Nirṛti also spelled as Nirruti or Nirriti, is a Hindu deity, personifying death, decay, and sorrow. Nirrti is regarded as a Dikapala (“guardian of the directions”) of the southwest.

The four handed Nirṛti has a terrific appearance with ill-looking eyes, a gaping mouth, and exposed teeth.

The god is holding Khadga (sword) in his right hand and Khatwanga in his left hand. There is a human / demon head in his lower left hand.

A human can been seen near his feet. Nirrti’s vahana (mount) is a man.
