Rasleela on the roof

Krishna Rasleela sculpture is located at Vishnu Temple of Siddheshwara in Newasa, Maharashtra (India).

The sculpture is located on the roof of the temple’s Sabha Mandapa dome.

Krishna and his gopis are dancing in the circular form by holding each others hand. There bent legs shows that they are dancing. Krishna can be seen multiple times depicting his maya. Even very small in size, all the idols are well ornamented and detailed.

Rasleela is performed around a padma (lotus) shape. The overall scene is fitted inside a square bracket.

The temple was built by Peshwas around 1767 in Hemadpanthi style.
