Naga-Nagini Sthambha on Jagamohana

Naga-nagini sthambha, shaiva dvarapalas on the entrance doorjambs, and Lakulisas on the lintel of entrance of Rajarani temple are the one of the noted sculptures of the shrine.

The portal of the jagamohana (the place from where pilgrims view the sanctum) of Rajarani Temple is flanked on either side by a large Naga-Nagin (male & female snacks) stambhas (columns) of which the female is on the left and the male is on the right.

Both the Naga ani Nagini are holding a well decorated garland. The base of the stambha (pillar) are decorated with a triple Gajakranta motif.

Rajarani temple dates back to 1100th Century CE and is a best example of Kalinga Architecture (Kalinga Panchratha Style). It is built in a Rekha Deul format.
