Rama and monkey chiefs
Watercolour painting on paper of Rāma with the chiefs of his army. Rāma stands in the centre of the painting, surrounded by a rocky landscape. Rāma is shown holding a bow and arrow and with golden rays emanating out of him. Lakṣmaṇa stands behind him and also holds a bow and arrow and has a golden halo surrounding him. Both Rāma and Laksmana wear wooden sandals. Also standing behind Rāma is Hanumān, Angada, Arunda, Nila and Samrambha. They all hold maces in their hands and wear golden crowns. In front of Rāma stands King Sugriva holding an umbrella in his left hand and a mace in his right hand. He is followed by Nala, Vanara, Durvinda and Rambha who all hold maces. The painting is surrounded by a black border.
