Album of popular prints mounted on cloth pages. Colour lithograph, lettered, inscribed and numbered 40. Śiva, wearing a necklace of skulls, stands behind a Śivalingam within a temple complex.
A woman bent on one knee holds the statue, while a bull approaches on the right. Markandeya, in blue, was destined to an early death, however Yama was unable to kill him on account of his great devotion to Śiva.
